Before we formed a collective we were all working as independent doulas, and we all went through the struggles of being a new doula, trying to find clients, working out how to explain what it is that a doula does, and the loneliness that comes with such a niche vocation. We know that coming into the world of birth work fresh from your training isn’t always easy and it’s hard to know where to turn, and we understand how important a supportive community is and want to create that space within Greater Manchester (and further afield) so that we can learn from each other and lift each other up.
We trust women and their inherent strength to make the best reproductive decisions for themselves, offering witness, companionship, information, resources, advocacy and support across the full spectrum of reproductive experiences.
The first few weeks following the birth of a new arrival is often a bit of an overwhelming whirlwind. As your postnatal doula, we will provide non-judgemental practical and emotional support for you and your family, helping you to adjust to life with a new baby.
We offer both emotional and practical support to families experiencing loss. We hope you know that your loss matters and that we can be here to support you through this time and help you through your grieving process.
Lauren is trained in a simple but effective 3 step process that neutralises the strong emotions currently associated with the traumatic event so you can keep the narrative of what happened without the overwhelming feelings.
The reported benefits of placenta remedies post-birth are wide ranging and Elle can encapsulate your placenta to help you heal after your baby is born.
As full spectrum doulas our work is not just in supporting planned, positive childbirth experiences, but covers the entire spectrum of pregnancy outcomes, including abortion.
Lauren is now a trained Babywearing Peer Supporter, able to support you if you wish to carry your newborn once they are earthside.
